The Institute of Palliative Medicine (IPM), an organ of PPCS, consists of an In-Patient cum Training Centre. It is constructed in an effort to make palliative care available & accessible to all those in need of it.
This In-Patient Facility provides a place where patients are admitted to bring difficult symptoms under control or to provide respite care. The most important focus in this facility is the 'patient' and patients will be made aware that they are a part of the community that cares for them.
The Training Centre helps in making people realise the 'necessity' of palliative care, and doctors, paramedical staff , volunteers and family members can be trained to serve patients better.
The Centre also accommodates patients infected with HIV and other incurable illnesses requiring symptom control or long-term care. |
